As per the order of Higher Education Department for rescheduling the education system to get maximum academic days during lockdown period, it has been instructed that all colleges in Kerala state should conduct online classes from June 1st, 2020 from 8.30 AM to 1.30 PM on every working day. The time table for the classes will be published by each department. The guidelines for the students for attending the classes are listed here.
Ensure that your gadget is fully charged before attending the class. Get ready with it at least 15 minutes before the class starts.
Keep your audio muted on the meeting and unmute it whenever necessary
Donot interrupt the class continuously. Note down your doubts in a sheet of paper you can ask them during the discussion time.
Write down lecture notes while you attend the class.
Utilize discussion time effectively.
Prepare your own notes combining the notes provided by the teachers if any.
In case of any network problem inform your teacher before the class. Unauthorized absence will be treated seriously. Teachers may get the list of absentees and their reason for absence etc and intimate the Principal through HOD
Take online classes seriously. No sneaking out. Class tests will be conducted regularly.
Duration of each class 1 hr :
o Live class (any of Zoom/Google meet/Jitsi etc platform may be selected) - 24 mints (4 mints attendance + 20 mints live class) This session is to be recorded by concerned teachers.
o Students may access and refer pdf notes / question papers/ voice clips/ video lectures and other materials - ( LMS like google class room/ moodle etc) – 16 mints
o QUIZ /assessment – 10 mints
o Feedback, discussion through discussion forum – 10 mints
Etiquettes to be followed while attending online classes
Test your hardware and network connection beforehand
Don’t talk over to each other, Use the chat function to ask questions
Don’t keep your microphone on if you aren’t speaking.
Don’t let yourself distracted during the class. Avoid side business.
Don’t interrupt other speakers.
Keep your notifications off while you attend the class
